Job Description

  The role is responsible for handling controllership & critical GL activities like Non-judgmental journals, Inventory tie out, Fixed assets, Lease accounting, Sales return provisions, treasury functions, Balance sheet reconciliation, Month-end reporting, payroll processing, store controllership & tax returns of a region/entity. Additionally, the role is accountable for delivery of accurate books of accounts (P&L, balance sheet and cash flow), controls and process improvements. Accounting excellence on all towers (60%-70% on GL- controllership & 40% - 30% on AP/AR).

         1.     Develop the GBS as a transformation partner for global extended operations; Ensure the GBS is in alignment with & nurtures cultural ethics propounded by the Global set-up

2.     Keep abreast with regulatory framework and guidelines related to General Accounting & Reporting pertaining to the region/entity; work with TL’s and Team to ensure that operational procedures are in alignment with SOX & RCM guidelines.

Support interim and Annual audit

  1. Carry out critical GL activities like accruals, provisions, reconciliation, treasury activities, store controllership & processing for the specified region/Entity
  2. Review & update SOPs / DTP related to GL at regular intervals; maintain & ensure periodic updation of the knowledge base
  3. Ensure timely & accurate preparation & circulation of P&L, balance sheet, cashflow statements and external reports pertaining to the specified region; circulate the same to relevant stakeholders
  4. Ensure the team is following consistent accounting standards in region in complete accordance with the global accounting policies – aligning with IFRS and GAAP.
  5. Ensure all the operational areas GL are in alignment with procedural / legislative controls of the region & adhere to the agreed KPI’s & TAT.
  6. Own and manage chart of accounts.
  7. Act as a change agent; Identify and deliver process excellence and continuous improvement programs with focus on operational activities related to GL
  8. Experience in managing transformation/Six Sigma/Change Management projects
  9. Understanding of SOX controls and review the internal controls from time to time and perform Risk, Control Self-Assessment
