Who we are
We are Xpheno (pronounced ‘ex-feeno’), a Specialist Talent Solutions company that offers Direct Hire, IT Staff Augmentation, Executive Search, Engineering Services & Sales/Support Staffing services.
Founded in 2017 by two veterans in the staffing and recruitment industry, Xpheno strives to be a reliable talent partner for various MNCs and VC-funded start-ups. Our co-founders Kamal Karanth and Anil Ethanur have previously served as MD for Kelly Services India and Malaysia, and as the MD of Recruit India respectively. They are lifelong friends, neighbors, former competitors and now, business partners.
As a specialist staffing firm with business lines in permanent recruitment and contract staffing for domestic and global clients, we believe in creating true value for our clientele.
The cornerstone of our belief is that when placed in a role that best suits their abilities, people can have a far-reaching effect beyond their immediate circle. Consequently, they are in a position where they can influence large teams and companies, thereby having a huge, positive impact on their firm’s ecosystem.
Xpheno Udupi – Center of Excellence (CoE)

Our aim is to become a reliable talent partner for such corporations and start-ups looking to expand, and help promote the true potential of Udupi and its people.
Our CoE in Udupi is more than just a physical space; it’s a dynamic hub where talent meets innovation, and expertise converges with passion.
The suite of business functions that will operate from our Center of Excellence in Udupi ranges from specialist talent sourcing, talent deployment, talent hosting and talent management. We aim to become a world-class Center of Excellence by harnessing the potential of Udupi’s burgeoning talent landscape.
September 2024: The Launch!
This belt is known for its burgeoning IT talent and rapidly growing infrastructure, making it an ideal location for such an expansion.
We are taking the lead in demonstrating the use case for the Silicon Beach of India as we will train a team of 250 specialist recruiters who will elevate the speed, scale and quality of our service delivery in the coming months.
Our leadership is also engaging with local higher education institutions. We will leverage our expertise, advising these universities and colleges on how best to train their students and bridge the skills gap that persists in our fresher talent today.
